Clutch Control Changes
ANSI/WCMA Standard To remain compliant with ANSI/WCMA standards taking effect June 1, 2024, we are making changes to the clutch control options available in our collections. We are changing our cord tensioner. The tensioners that are currently approved for use under the standard can be used with beaded chain and are not available with nylon cord loops. Beaded chains must also be continuous and cannot use a bead connector. See below for how these changes will affect each of our collections. These changes will take effect for orders placed on and after June 1, 2024. Changes will be reflected in our ordering system. Touchpoint quotes entered prior to 6/1 that include clutch control must be re-validated before submission to ensure the available chain loops are ordered. Available with Cordless Control Cordless control is now available for Kalmar Cream from our Dual Sheer Shade Collection. In its original weave, the fabric was too thick to pass smoothly through the cordless bottom bar. The factory has now improved the weaving method for this pattern, allowing it to work with the cordless bottom bar. Thank you for your patience as we worked through this issue. The new cassette and brackets allow the back of the cassette and the shade fabric to sit closer to the window with a minimal gap. The cassette also includes a light blocking strip at the top of the cassette, which helps reduce light leak for inside mount shades. We have now made additional improvements to the design of this system:
Remakes Shades that require a remake will use this new cassette and bracket system. Because the new system uses a resized bracket, existing brackets will not fit to the cassette. Natural Shades (US Only)
Cordless TDBU will replace Corded TDBU in our Natural Shade Collection. Cordless TDBU will be available only for Natural Shades at this time, and we are working through this development for Fabric Roman Shades.
Cordless TDBU Natural Shades can be made to a maximum size of 60" x 60". As the factory works more with this new system, we expect to improve this specification.

Quiet Lift renamed Power Lift
All Collections
As recently announced, we have been working with our motor manufacturer to reduce the noise level on our standard Inspired Shades remote control motor. With this improvement, there is now no significant difference between the noise level of our standard motor and Quiet Lift motor.
In addition to being a quieter motor option, the Quiet Lift motor has a stronger, more powerful lift than our standard motor. This allows the Quiet Lift motor to raise shades that are too heavy for the standard motor.
Starting April 1, 2024, the Quiet Lift motor will be renamed the Power Lift motor, which more accurately describes its purpose.
Additionally, shades in our Dual Sheer Shade Collection can be made with any fabric at the maximum size using the standard lift motor. To streamline ordering options, the Power Lift motor will be discontinued on April 15, 2024, for the Dual Sheer Shade Collection.
