Due to the recent IATA ruling that requires international air freight shipment of Lithium batteries to be shipped with no more than 30% charge, we must change how we ship orders with Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery Packs. In order to continue offering the Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery Packs, as of November 21, 2025 these battery packs will now ship from our warehouse in Ohio, separate from your shade order. This will apply to both standard motors and Smart Home Motors. Please watch for both shade and battery shipments before scheduling your installation for orders placed on or after November 22, 2025. To ensure that your shades are operational upon installation, we will begin including battery tubes with shade orders when a Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery Pack is selected. The shades can be powered by the battery tubes until the Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery Pack arrives. Battery tubes can be used with 8 1.5v alkaline batteries.

Over the next few months, the wall switch for the Inspired Shade remote motors will be updated to use AAA batteries instead of button-cell batteries. With a lower risk of ingestion, AAA batteries prove to be a safer battery alternative for families. AAA batteries also provide more reliable power, longer operation time, and easier replacement. There will be no change to the price or programming for the wall switch. The wall switch remains available in white only. This transition will start for our collections in November. Each collection will be updated as the factories run down their stock of the current wall switch. Ordering System NoteIn your ordering system, you will now see the External Power Motor instead of the External Battery Pack Motor option. This motor can be paired with an external battery pack, AA battery tubes, or the Plug-In Power Adapter to receive power, so the name has been updated.
Motorization updates including our redesigned Pro Wand and 15-channel remotes will be available to order starting June 3, 2025. The Pro Wand will launch for our Roller Shade and Fabric Roman Shade Collections this fall.  INSPIRED SHADES RemotesOur proprietary 15-channel Inspired Shades Remotes will be available on June 3, 2025 for all collections. The contemporary remotes are available in both white and black. In addition to their updated design, the remotes have new features including AAA battery power, allowing for easy battery replacement, and a backlit LED Screen. The redesigned 15-channel remote can be used as a single channel remote by hiding unused channels. With the introduction of the updated 15-channel remotes, we will be discontinuing single channel remotes and single channel wall switches. The last day for ordering the current single channel remote will be June 2nd, 2025. 
We are excited to announce that Roller and Roller Roman shades ordered with Smart Home Collection lithium ion motors will now be shipped with the V2 motor. The V2 lithium ion motor offers new design and operational features including a USB charging port in the motor head, soft open and close functions, and battery check function using a remote. We are in the process of switching all of our factories to the V2 Smart Home Collection motor and will provide an update for our Woven Wood and Dual Sheer shade factories when the change date has been confirmed. Chargers Shades ordered with V2 motors and chargers will be shipped with the Inspired Shades Collection's standard 10' or 16' USB chargers. Additional motor chargers are available for purchase directly through the Smart Home Collection and include solar chargers. Solar chargers are no longer available for direct purchase from the Inspired Shades Collection. Operation and Controls The programming and operation of V2 motors matches V1 and can be controlled with the same hand held remotes or wall switch as well as the Smart Home Collection hub. |
