Clutch Control Changes
ANSI/WCMA Standard

To remain compliant with ANSI/WCMA standards taking effect June 1, 2024, we are making changes to the clutch control options available in our collections. 

We are changing our cord tensioner. The tensioners that are currently approved for use under the standard can be used with beaded chain and are not available with nylon cord loops. Beaded chains must also be continuous and cannot use a bead connector. 

See below for how these changes will affect each of our collections. These changes will take effect for orders placed on and after June 1, 2024. Changes will be reflected in our ordering system. 

Touchpoint quotes entered prior to 6/1 that include clutch control must be re-validated before submission to ensure the available chain loops are ordered. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes. 

Natural Shades
Fabric Roman Shades

• Will use metal bead chain for all clutch orders. 
• There will be no surcharge for metal bead chain loops.
• Once an approved tensioner is available that operates with nylon loops, we will revert to nylon being the standard loop option for these collections. 
• Don't forget, cordless control is available as a no-cost upgrade.

 
Dual Sheer Shades

• Will use metal bead chain for all clutch orders. 
• There will be no surcharge for metal bead chain loops.
• Once an approved tensioner is available that operates with nylon loops, we will revert to nylon being the standard loop option for this collection. 

 
Roller Shades
Natural Roller Shades

• Will use plastic bead chain with set chain lengths for all clutch orders. 
• Custom chain lengths will remain available for metal bead chain.
