Click below to learn more. 2025 Natural Shade Sample Book + FabricsNatural DraperiesNatural Draperies present a sophisticated and stylish way to cover large windows or sliding doors. When specifying, note that the Natural Drapery will include decorative track with your choice of rounded or rectangular profile. Because draperies install using a decorative track, valances are not needed for this product. Natural material is railroaded to hang vertically when ordered in this style. Draperies require edge binding, which is sewn to all four sides to protect the edges and is included in the price of the drape. Natural draperies are constructed using wave tape. Hooks attach to carriers, which glide smoothly in a traversing track while maintaining their structure when being opened and closed. Natural Draperies are made with 150% fullness. Note: Natural Draperies are being added as a replacement for Folding Doors. See Folding Door Discontinuation at the bottom of this post for more details. Opening OptionsDecorative TrackTracks have been specially sourced for this product to ensure smooth operation. Tracks are included in the price of the drapery. Rounded and Square profiles are available in six color options. Folding Door DiscontinuationNatural Draperies will be replacing our Folding Door product starting October 1, 2025. We are no longer able to source the component parts for Folding Doors, and have brought in Natural Draperies as an elevated replacement.
Folding Doors have been removed from our product guides and will be removed from your ordering system starting October 1, 2025. We are improving the specification for lined valances. Lined valances are intended to block the outline of the components from showing through to the front of the valance when light is coming through.
Previously, unlined shades defaulted to using Light-Filtering White for all lined valances, and light-filtering lined shades used matching light-filtering liners on the valance. We have found that when valances use light-filtering liners, the outline of the components is often still visible through the front of the valance. Our new standard specification is to use color matched room-darkening liners on all valances to fully block the view of the components. Unlined shades will have room-darkening lined valances matched to the shade fabric color. Light-filtering shades will have room-darkening lined valances matched to the light-filtering liner color. You may also change your lined valance color when placing orders. Room-Darkening lined shades will continue to use the matching room-darkening liner color for the lined valance. We have found that several fabrics in the Natural Shade Collection are not suitable for making sliding panels. Some of the fabrics on the list below are too soft to maintain their structure in this style while others are too thick for the panels to pass without catching when operating. As a result, we have removed these fabrics from your ordering system for that style. Our product guide and 2025 Natural Shade sample book have also had these fabrics noted as unavailable for this option.
Many of the finely woven fabrics or fabrics with open weaves in the Inspired Shades Natural Shade Collection require edge binding to protect the edge of the shade and keep the shade fabric from fraying over time. We understand that Edge Binding may not be a suitable style choice for all design aesthetics, so we've added Edge Seal as a new solution to protect the edges of shades. Edge Seal is used on select fabrics when ordered without edge binding. See below for the list of fabrics using this option when not using edge binding. Edge Seal is a non-adhesive tape applied to the back left and right edges of select shade fabrics. It is also applied to the valance of standard shades. Edge Seal is transparent once applied, but it may be slightly visible from the back and front of the shade, especially if the shade is unlined. It will be more visible on darker fabrics than on lighter fabrics. Available FabricsEdge Seal is only used on the fabrics listed below if they are not ordered with edge binding. These fabrics no longer require edge binding to maintain the warranty for frayed edges. Please note, some fabrics in the collection have continued with the edge binding requirement, as all weaves and materials are not suitable to pair with Edge Seal.
Ordering System NoteIn your ordering system, you will now see the External Power Motor instead of the External Battery Pack Motor option. This motor can be paired with an external battery pack, AA battery tubes, or the Plug-In Power Adapter to receive power, so the name has been updated.
Direct (Top) Mounted Shades When direct mounting fabric roman shades without using the installation slots in the headrail, it is possible to create a fabric pull in the valance for standard shades or shade fabric for waterfall shades. Please see the instruction below on avoiding pulls and an update around our replacement policy when this issue occurs. Because the head rail is fabric wrapped, it is important to always use the pre-drilled installation slots when direct mounting into the installation surface. The fabric around the slots has a reinforced opening that helps prevent the valance or shade fabric from pulling when the shade is installed. For direct mount Fabric Roman Shades, please always ensure installations use the provided screws and washers to hold the shade in place and that shades are installed using the pre-drilled slots. Previously, we allowed no-cost remakes for this issue. Because this can be avoided with proper installation, remakes may have to be processed with an Oops discount starting September 1, 2025. Our product guide and installation instructions now reflect this change. Direct mount shades should always be installed through the installation slot in the head rail with the provided screws and washers.
